Grammy Performers named for the Norwegian Getaway....... Who will they be?

Grammy Experience at Sea 

Norwegian cruise line are set to introduce three new performers on board the Norwegian Getaway as part of their Grammy Experience at Sea programme.

Sugar Blue, a harmonica player, will join Getaway this month. He has recorded and appeared with the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Prince and Ray Charles, among others. He won his Grammy in 1985 for Best Traditional Blues recording as a featured performer on the album Blues Explosion. He will perform on Getaway through to the 14th June 2014.

Grammy nominee Carolyn Malachi will perform on board Getaway from the 15th June 2014 through to the 1st August 2014. Her music style is described as spoken-word meets hip-hop, R&B and jazz fusion.

From the 2nd August 2014 to the 30th August 2014, Getaway passengers will be treated to the music of Roddie Romero, a Grammy-nominated artist from Louisiana who plays traditional Cajun and zydeco music.

Introducing Camp Ocean to Carnival Cruise Lines

As of the 24th May 2014 carnival cruise lines will be offering Camp Ocean on board the Carnival Freedom cruise ship and will be available on all carnival ships by 2016.

Camp Ocean is a Marine-themed children's programme replacing the cruise lines current Camp Carnival programme. Camp Ocean is available to children aged 2 to 11 and will immerse them in the "wonders of the sea" through fun, educational on board activities. The activities will span 11 categories of play including active play, games, role play, music, party time, social & food fun, arts & crafts and much more.

Children will be divided by age groups within the programme, as below:
aged 2 to 5 in the "Penguins" group  
aged 6 to 8 in the "Sting Rays" group
aged 9 to 11 in the "Sharks" group

The children spaces will also be redesigned creating a fresh new look as well as interactive gaming stations for the "Sharks" and miniature play igloos for the "Penguins"

Among hundreds of other ocean inspired activities offered on board there will be games such as Marine Life Trivia, Design your own aquarium, Make your own sail boat and much much more. These give the kids the chance to earn and collect badges for completing special tasks like trying new food, making an aquatic towel or riding the water slide.

In developing the Camp Ocean program, Carnival created a Carnival Play Panel consisting of experts in child education, media and play. 

Carnival's programs for tweens and teens, Circle C and Club O2 will remain unchanged.

Welcome to my new blog! Sail with Shell!

I have worked in the travel industry for over 7 years. Straight from school I started with a Las Vegas specialist as an administration assistant. I then became very intersted in selling holidays so I started working in Sales. The company i was with then changed from a Las Vegas specialist to selling holidays for all of the Americas and beyond.

 

My first ever holiday abroad was a Caribbean cruise from Barbados. I fell in love with cruising and then a couple of months later did my second cruise, which as Mediteranean cruise. Since then i found Royal Caribbean and fell even more in love with cruising, I have cruised with on numerous occassions. I have cruised on the Freedom of the Seas numerous times, Oasis of the Seas twice and my last cruise in May 2013 was on the Jewel of the seas. I have done various staterooms from inside to suites.

 

I love traveling to America but my favorite place to travel to is Orlando, Florida. I have been to other places such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami, Florida Keys and many of the caribbean islands.
